Victoria Mogridge
FOLK MUSIC ARTIST
About Victoria
Performing as a soloist, I play arrangements of traditional music from Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia and my own contemporary tunes influenced by these styles. For this, I use an electric violin with five strings incorporating the range of a viola. This exciting instrument allows me to introduce different techniques, sound range and rhythms. I can explore my creativity within string playing, writing my own music with folk influences and arrangements of traditional and contemporary music.
As a session musician I have supported various recordings for CDs, library music and film. I have performed at music festivals in the southwest. Events include concerts, ceilidhs, weddings, parties and barn dances. Currently I play with the band ‘Unfringed’ who play a range of genres of music including folk, blues, rock and jazz. I enjoy collaborating with other musicians and teaching. I pass on appreciation of music to my students.

Session Musician
Throughout my musical playing I have worked as a session musician providing backing support and playing as a solo artist for a number of recording studios. This has included recording with bands and as a solo artist for CDs, film, and library music for television and radio.
I really enjoy session music for its variety, working with other musicians and the challenge of being creative in support of the artist.
